Traye Barfield
President/Project Manager
Traye Barfield has been part of Sentry General Contractors, Inc. for more than 20 years and now serves as the company’s owner and project manager. After becoming a partner in 2002, he later purchased the business from his father and former partner, Pat Parker, continuing a company that was founded in May 1985.
Traye works directly with every client and stays closely involved throughout each project, from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. With a background in drafting and years of experience working alongside architects, he brings a practical, problem-solving approach to construction. He’s known for taking the time to listen, helping clients weigh options, and finding solutions that balance quality, function, and long-term value.

Steve Fontanez
Project Superintendent
Steve Fontanez has been with Sentry General Contractors since 1985 and brings decades of on-site leadership to complex construction projects. As a project superintendent, he has overseen commercial, educational, medical, and faith-based builds and renovations, including work for Tyler ISD, Tyler Junior College, UT Tyler, Brook Hill School, and Trinity Mother Frances. Steve is known for steady coordination in active facilities and a practical, detail-driven approach that keeps projects moving smoothly.
